Alyssa + Jordan: A Winter Wedding at the Zoo

For our last wedding of 2018, we had the privilege of photographing at the Calgary Zoo, again.

Alyssa and Jordan went to high school together - but dating each other didn't cross their mind until after they graduated. Jordan's best man said is perfectly - "they finally smartened up".

Jordan and his family live in the states - So Alyssa and Jordan would take turns visiting each other. We know all about long distance relationships as Jad and I lived in different provinces when we first met - I like to think that love conquered the difficulty that comes with living so far away from the person you love (que violins).

Photographing this wedding was a little different, I (Gina) had been working as a wedding coordinator for about 6 years at this point. So when we decided to do photography full time, I still had a few more weddings that I was hired to coordinate. Alyssa and Jordan were one of my last weddings and I asked if they wanted Jad as their second photographer - and they did! They had chosen their high school hockey coach as their main photographer (he is also a professional photographer).

Everyone involved in this wedding were so absolutely kind and loving! And boy, does everyone love hockey!
